COUNTY PROJECT ASSISTANT – KUZA JAMII

DIVISION:            Development Division

REPORTS TO:     Programme Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The County Project Assistant will support programme work in the Kuza Jamii Center, and will contribute to programmatic and administrative duties including resource mobilization.

KEY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The County Project Assistant is responsible for:

Programme Support and Delivery

  • Support the planning and implementation of the GESI strategy within the Kuza Jamii project.
  • Support the identification and training of gender champions to cascade the Gender Action Learning system within the community
  • Assisting in planning and overseeing of significant events within the Project.
  • Maintaining programme calendar and sending out reminders of impending appointments.
  • Preparing documentation for financial and programmatic reporting.
  • Drafting letters and reports as may be required from time to time.
  • Processing requests for payments to vendors and suppliers.

Resource Mobilization and Fundraising

  • Participate in resource mobilization efforts to identify opportunities and support development of concept papers and proposals for submission to prospective donors.
  • Facilitate research and study on Gender Equity and Social Inclusion, with a focus on ASAL areas in Kenya

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage and update Programme Center Contact Data Base.
  • Mobilize participants and stakeholders to attend programme meetings and forums.

QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC:

Diploma in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences or any other related field. A degree is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least two years’ experience in programme planning and implementation with a bias for GESI mainstreaming
  • Report writing and knowledge of project life cycles
  • Experience in resource mobilization (proposal development and submission)
  • Good understanding of Gender Equity and Social Inclusion context in Kenya.

Please note; The successful candidates will be stationed in the project locations, in the following sub counties;Garissa (Ijara and Township), Isiolo (Isiolo North and South), Marsabit (Moyale and Laisamis), Samburu (Samburu West and North) Tana River (Galole and Bura) Turkana (Turkana West Central) and Wajir (Wajir South and East) and Mandera (Mandera South and Mandera East)
